Mobile phones are effecting the workplace more than people understand or comprehend. Just about everyone in the USA brings their cell phone to work and even use their cell phone for work related activities.
Even tablet computers are making their way into the workplace and this has a much more significant effect on employers because of the need to provide wireless internet access to their employees iPad and Android tablets. There are severe security issues connected to allowing outside devices connectivity into corporate networks.
From the start social media has come into the workplace and employers have had to create internal policies regarding the use of social media within the work environment. This has been a give and take relationship because estimates show that the amount of time spent on social media during work hours is causing significant reductions in productivity.
